One dead in Waushara County single-vehicle accident

A single-vehicle accident that occurred on 26th Road southeast of County Road W in the Town of Saxeville claimed the life of one and injured one more last Sunday, June 12.

Emergency medical responders found the car involved in the accident had collided with several trees. One of the victims was airlifted via ThedaStar helicopter to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah, while the other was declared dead at the scene of the accident. Both victims were identified as male.

The Waushara County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into the matter to determine what factors might have contributed to the accident. The Saxeville Fire Department and the Waushara County EMS responded to the scene of the accident. The names of the victims were not immediately released pending notification of the families. The accident marked the first fatality in Waushara County in 2016.
