Drunk driver who injured four to face trial

Appleton police report that an Appleton man was drinking before he got behind the wheel at the time of a crash in October that left four injured.

The accident took place around 12:20 AM on October 24. Deputies arrived on Vine Road in Oneida to find a damaged truck that seemed to have rolled over several times before coming to a stop in a ditch.

The 34-year-old male driver of the truck told deputies that he he had just recently left a Kaukauna bar, and field sobriety tests showed his blood-alcohol concentration to be 0.14 percent.

Four passengers in the truck were hurt and taken to a local area hospital.

This was the man’s third drunk driving offense, and if convicted he faces up to 24 years in prison and a $40,000 fine.
