A police investigation into a fatal two-car crash that occurred on October 5 points to excessive speed as the cause.

Police have conducted a reconstruction of the accident, which shows that a speeding driver caused the collision that left 3 dead.

The accident occurred on Highway 26 near the town of Nekimi when a speeding van crossed the center line and hit an oncoming car. The driver of the van, 54-year-old Michael Mueller, and the couple in the car, Wayne and Carolyn Gregory, both 64, died in the crash.
