State Trooper Injured While Directing Traffic

On January 31, a state trooper in Manitowoc County was hit by a car, causing him to be seriously injured. He was directing traffic after an early morning car accident caused traffic to be backed up.

The trooper arrived on the scene at 7 in the morning after a truck driven by a pregnant woman rolled into a ditch. The trooper had been directing traffic for about an hour when a woman driving a Buick lost control of her car and struck him.

The trooper suffered serious injuries but none were life-threatening.
