Taxi Passenger Dies in 18-Wheeler Accident

A 60 year-old man visiting Fort Worth, Texas for business died on February 20, 2011 after the taxi he was riding in crashed into an 18-wheeler.

The 18-wheeler was parked on the shoulder of the road with the driver asleep in the driver’s seat when the taxi slammed into the back of the truck. Neither the driver inside the 18-wheeler or the driver of the taxi were injured. The 60 year-old man died on the scene before ambulances arrived.

Investigations into why the taxi ran into the 18-wheeler are still under way, and the driver of the 18-wheeler could receive citations for being parked on the road for a long period of time.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the friends and family of the victim of this tragic accident.
