Oakdale car accident caused by boulder in road

The Oakdale Police Department issued a report of a single-vehicle car accident that recently occurred on Upper 23rd Street when a woman crashed into a boulder that was in the middle of the road.

Residents witnessed a woman, who was driving a sport-utility vehicle, hit the boulder and then drag it for at least 30 feet before coming to a stop. The woman called a tow truck to tow her vehicle because it was stuck on top of the boulder. Police arrived on the scene shortly after, but the woman had already left.

One of the residents then used his vehicle to remove the boulder from the road.

Municipalities have a responsibility to promptly remove any hazards out of the road so that drivers can drive safely and avoid accidents.
