MN man dies after snowmobile accident

The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office is saying that speed and alcohol are believed to be major factors in a fatal snowmobile crash that happened in Milton Township Friday afternoon.

A 28 year-old man from St. Cloud, Minnesota was riding a snowmobile on private property when he struck a cable that was strung between two fence posts. He was ejected from the vehicle. Emergency crews say the man was unresponsive when they arrived. The man was taken to Winona Community Memorial Hospital where he was later died.

The man’s friend, 38, was there at the scene and was not hurt. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is currently investigating the crash.

Our deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of the victim.
