Police cruisers recalled for electrical problems

Potential electrical problems have prompted Chrysler Group, LLC to recall nearly 10,000 police Dodge Chargers.

The 2011 and 2012 Dodge Charger models are the subject of the recall. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, overheating problems in the bulb harness connector could cause problems in the vehicles’ low beam headlights. Overheating in the power distribution module could cause a loss of anti-lock break and electric stability control functions.

No accidents have been reported in relation to the defects. Chrysler will begin the recall in March and will repair the vehicles free of charge.
