Two die in separate snowmobile accidents

Two people were killed over the weekend in Wisconsin in unrelated snowmobile accidents that occurred on Beaver Dam Lake and in Langland County.

Six people riding snowmobiles on Beaver Dam Lake suddenly plunged into open water Saturday night, sending at least five to the hospital. A 45 year-old man who fell into the freezing water later died.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Conservation encourages people to stay off of the lake because it is extremely unstable.

Saturday morning a 58 year-old woman died after he snowmobile hit a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene by sheriff’s deputies.

Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those killed in the accidents.
