Husband faces homicide charges for accident that killed wife

Charges of homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle, homicide by the use of a motor vehicle with a prohibited alcohol concentration, and homicide by the intoxicated use of a motor vehicle have been brought against a 38 year-old Oshkosh man after he caused a deadly car accident earlier this year.

The man and his wife were on their way home from New Year’s Eve celebrations when their car drove into a ditch. Emergency responders found the wife unresponsive in the passenger seat and later declared her dead.

Her husband was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.17, more than two times the legal limit. If he is convicted of all three homicide charges, he could face up to 60 years in prison and $225,000 in fines.
