Passenger killed in motorcycle-truck collision

A female passenger on a motorcycle was killed Sunday evening in Geneva after the motorcycle collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of Kirk Road and Division Street. The pickup truck was making a U-turn when the accident occurred.

The 48-year-old woman from Bolingbrook and the 50-year-old man driving the motorcycle were taken to Delnor Hospital with extensive injuries. She was pronounced dead two hours later. The man’s current condition has not been disclosed.

According to the Beacon-News, the 19-year-old driver of the pickup truck sustained only minor injuries. Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the accident.

Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and friends during this difficult time.
