Woman dies in bicycle-car collision

A Mosinee woman was killed last week after a car struck her while she was on her bike. She was riding on Highway KK near Rifle Road when the accident occurred. She was taken to Aspirus Wausau Hospital where she later died from her injuries.

According to the Pioneer Press, a few years ago her husband died on the same stretch of road while riding his bike. He died after crashing his bicycle into a parked car. She had recently remarried and was scheduled to go on her honeymoon this week.

Authorities have arrested the driver on charges of driving with a suspended license. This is the first bicycle fatality in Wisconsin this year.
