Car slams into tree in Whitefish Bay, injures three

Shorewood Police responded to an accident that occurred in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin near Lake Drive and Fairmount Avenue in the early morning of Sunday, June 2.

Three occupants of a car that slammed into a tree near the area were injured, resulting in the driver and the front passenger being sent to Froedtert Hospital for recuperation. The backseat passenger, however, declined medical treatment.

According to the police, they tried to ask the driver of the vehicle to pull over minutes before the crash as it was heading east on Capitol Drive at around 2:06 a.m., but instead of stopping the car and getting out of the vehicle, the driver stepped on the pedal and turned northbound on Lake Drive, after which their vehicle crashed into a tree at the intersection.

The driver will be charged for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, causing injury, and fleeing a police officer, according to police.
