Grant County car accident results in toddler’s death

Grant County police officials reported a two-vehicle traffic accident near Muscoda in Wisconsin that led to the death of a three-year-old toddler. The accident occurred on Thursday, October 10 at around 8 a.m.

According to the police, 26-year-old Melissa Starkey was driving her vehicle on Fifth Street when she accidentally hit Calli Jacobus’s car. There were two children riding in Jacobus’s vehicle at the time of the collision. The three-year-old died on the spot, while the other child and Jacobus did not suffer from any injuries.

A seven-year-old child riding in Starkey’s vehicle also received minor wounds and was taken to the Richland Center Hospital while Starkey was unhurt.

Authorities have yet to inform the public if Starkey was cited for the incident.
