One dies in Interstate 90 multiple-vehicle crash

Officers from the Wisconsin State Patrol have reported that one person was killed in a multiple-vehicle accident on Interstate 90 near French Island in La Crosse, Wisconsin, WXOW19 reported on July 24.

Aside from the fatality, a Tri-State Ambulance spokesman said two people were transported to a hospital due to injuries sustained in the accident. One was critically injured while the other sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

According to preliminary investigations made by the police, a dump truck driver appeared to lose control as traffic slowed in the eastbound lane of I-90, and the truck hit an automobile from behind. This resulted in a pileup that included five other vehicles. The dump truck and the car it hit both ended up on the median, where a fire began.
