Husband of motorcycle accident victim charged with homicide

Thirty-one-year-old Shawano County resident Jonathan Cherny was charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle on Monday, August 11 in Brown County Court after accidentally killing his 29-year-old wife, Anna, early Sunday morning, August 10, when he lost control of the motorcycle they had both been riding. The accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 32 and County Highway B in Pulaski.

According to police investigators, Cherny and his wife both had not been wearing helmets at the time of the crash, but Cherny will not be penalized for this, as Wisconsin laws do not prohibit the use of a motorcycle without a helmet.

Investigators said that both the high rate of speed and Cherny’s intoxication are factors as to why the motorcycle accident happened in the first place.

The thoughts and sympathies of everyone at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® are with the family members and loved ones of the victim at this difficult time.
