School bus and car collision near Pulaski kills one

A collision between a school bus and a car claimed the life of one individual and wounded 14 others last Tuesday, September 2 at around 9 p.m. The collision occurred on Wisconsin Highway 29 near Pulaski at South Saint Augustine Street, north of the highway.

The bus had on board members of the Pulaski varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams; they were coming home from a game in Seymour when the accident happened.

According to a press release from the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department, the female who was killed in the crash and who was a passenger in the car, was identified as a 24-year-old Athens resident. The driver of the car, who was also hurt in the crash, was identified as a 27-year-old man from Marathon City.

Thirteen students were wounded in the accident.
