Defective fuel pumps prompt Nissan-BMW recall

Japanese automaker Nissan and German manufacturing company BMW have issued a recall for over 94,000 vehicles due to defective fuel pumps that may cause the vehicles to stall, the Killeen Daily Herald reported on April 10.

Among the vehicles included in the recall are 76,000 Nissan Rogues from the 2014 model year and another 18,000 BMW 2, 3, and 4 series models from 2014, and some 4 series cars from 2015.

Federal regulators got wind of the problem via complaints and warranty claims made by owners.

Neither car manufacturer gave any indication that crashes nor injuries have resulted from these defects.

People depend on auto manufacturers to create auto parts and products that work properly and do not compromise the safety of occupants. Once this expectation is compromised, serious injuries and even death may result. If you had been hurt due to a defective vehicle, call our attorneys at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® in Lake Geneva by dialing (262) 248-5200 to learn how you may hold the offending parties accountable in court.
