Oneida man killed in Pulaski two-vehicle collision

An Oneida resident was killed on June 5 after becoming involved in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Wisconsin 32 and Oconto County S in the Town of Chase, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

The accident, which happened at around 3:45 p.m., prompted local authorities to close Wisconsin 32 to public traffic for two and a half hours.

According to preliminary investigations, a dump truck operated by a 55-year-old Marinette man pulled out in front of and inadvertently hit a pickup truck driven by a 62-year-old Oneida man, causing the latter to sustain several severe injuries. After transport to a hospital by an Eagle 3 helicopter, the unnamed victim succumbed to his injuries.

The pickup driver’s 53-year-old wife, who had been riding with him when the accident happened, sustained minor wounds that were treated at a local hospital. Meanwhile, the dump truck driver was unharmed in the incident.

Police officers are still investigating what caused the accident in the first place, although preliminary findings do not point to speed or alcohol as factors in the crash.
