Lake Geneva two-vehicle collision causes temporary road closure, property damage

A two-vehicle collision on Saturday, July 25, on Ridge Road between Sentry Foods and Jurg’s Greenhouses in Lake Geneva caused temporary road closure along that stretch of road.

According to Walworth County Police Chief Chris Severt, the vehicles – one driven by 87-year-old Harvard, IL resident Robert Wittmus and the other operated by 32-year-old Fontana-on-Geneva Lake local Heather Lewins – crashed into each other as the cars pulled out of two parking lots located across the street from each other.

Severt, in a telephone interview last Monday, said that there were no injuries as reported by the Walworth Fire Department. One of the vehicles, however, sustained extensive damage. Ridge Road was temporarily closed to traffic as police investigators conducted a probe on the area and maintenance crews cleared the wreck.
