Lake Geneva driver kills pedestrian

The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin reported that its police deputies responded at 1:07 a.m. last Monday, August 10, to calls concerning a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle and was found lying on the ground on Highway 120 south of County Highway D in the town of Spring Prairie.

The victim, identified as 38-year-old West Salem resident Chad Kneesel, was apparently struck by a driver from Lake Geneva, who was driving a 2011 Mazda. Kneesel was leaving a concert at Alpine Valley Music Theater when he was hit by the vehicle. According to authorities, the driver of the vehicle did not attend the same event.

Kneesel was taken to a trauma center in the area after he was found unresponsive in the road, and he passed away a few hours later.

The driver was later arrested and charged with drunk driving.
