The Wisconsin State Patrol has reported that a two-vehicle collision occurred just before 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12 along Interstate 94 near mile marker 56 in Dunn County, Wisconsin near Elk Mound. The collision resulted in one fatality.

Upon arriving at the scene of the accident, police troopers discovered a Ford F-10 pickup truck and a 2015 Kenworth semi-truck stalled along the median. According to preliminary investigations, the pickup truck, which was headed west along the highway, veered out of control on the slippery road and crashed into a guardrail. After the initial collision, the pickup truck came to a stop in the westbound traffic lanes where it was struck by the semi-truck.

The pickup driver died of injuries sustained in the impact, while the driver of the larger commercial vehicle did not sustain injuries in the collision. The identities of the parties involved in the accident have not been released by local authorities pending notification of the victim’s family.
